Hopeful Saints Ministry is a congregation in Heppner OR composed of Lutherans and Episcopalians who over the course of approximately twenty-five years, have merged as one, where all are welcome. We value our diverse ages, rich histories, and traditions. We enjoy a mix of worship styles, using a variety of liturgies and music from both denominations, as we have grown together.
Our ‘marriage’ began in 1998 during Lent; first as three congregations, all sharing in the financial support of one Pastor and later, as two congregations. We then began worshipping together, rotating between buildings. Following 20 years of conversations and growing closer, we made the difficult decision of coming together under one roof. There were many trials, tribulations, grief, understanding, tears, laughter and much discussion before we agreed on our location and name, a combination of All Saints Episcopal and Hope Lutheran.
Our Shared ministry has brought strength and vitality to us as one congregation. We have welcomed new members of all ages and are enjoying the many voices of little children on Sundays. We look forward to welcoming a pastor or priest to our Hopeful Saints family as we continue to learn to meet in the middle, make our world a better place, and together, move forward in faith, love, friendship, and the peace that comes with life in Eastern Oregon.
