Preparing and strengthening the EPPN

Posted Dec 18, 2012

Continuing the Advent theme of preparation, and our preparation for another year of advocacy for “justice and peace among all people” (BCP), we want to be ready to speak – even shout! – for justice as a new congress is sworn in next year and the administration transitions into its second term.

Spreading the word about the Episcopal Public Policy Network is an important part of our advocacy. While sending a message to a friend inviting them to join the EPPN may seem different from sending a message to a legislator, they are equally important parts of our work.

A new congress and a refocused administration will be especially attuned to what they hear from their constituents. Imagine if every EPPN member recruited just one other person to join the network – we could double our voice in Washington.

This week, send a message to a friend (or two or three…) inviting them to join the EPPN.

Remember that the more voices we have, the more clearly our message will be heard. You are our best advocates in Washington. You are also our best recruiters in your home towns and churches.

PS – There is still time to take part in the EPPN survey. Let us know what you think, here.
