Katie Clark named Director of Communications for Episcopal Diocese of Maine

Katie Clark has been named the new Director of Communications for the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, a member of Bishop Thomas J. Brown’s staff.

In this position, Clark’s duties include managing public and media relations, managing the diocese’s messaging across digital, print, and social media, working with diocese staff to assist with special events,  and serving as a communications consultant and resource to the churches, congregations and groups within the diocese.

“Long before the words coronavirus, COVID-19 and pandemic were on the tips of our tongues, the Diocese of Maine was leading a nation-wide search process to recruit a Director of Communications,” said Bishop Thomas J. Brown. “One candidate stood out from the very beginning of our recruitment process and we are so excited to welcome Katie, as she brings a wealth of experience to lead the Diocese’s communication’s function.”

Clark has an extensive background in communications, content marketing, social media and market research. She has experience at corporate and nonprofit organizations working both on the client and the agency side. She has worked with companies and organizations in industries including consumer packaged goods, specialty foods, live events, education, pharmaceutical, insurance, nonprofit, entertainment, and technology.

Her recent positions include COO/Research Director at Portland Marketing Analytics, Communications Manager at Maine Historical Society, and VP of Content Marketing & Strategy at Research Rockstar. She holds marketing and social media certifications from Cornell University and Hootsuite and is a Katahdin class graduate of the Institute for Civic Leadership’s Leadership Intensive program.  She holds degrees from Smith College and the University of Dublin, Trinity College.

She resides in Falmouth, Maine with her husband and identical twin daughters, is a parishioner at the Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Falmouth and is a long-time community volunteer.
