On July 2, 2018 students from around the world can begin taking a free, online class to help people of faith and their communities get to better know Bishop Michael Curry and the message of love that resonated earlier this year with Royal Wedding watchers around the world.

Nearly 2 billion people perked up to hear the riveting words of Bishop Michael Curry at the 2018 Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. What hit a nerve was an inspiring and encompassing meditation on love. And what’s propelled Bishop Curry into the international spotlight is paving the way for even greater work done in the name of love.

“I think the world is hungry for love right now,” said Bishop Curry, “I think there’s great interest in rediscovering the self-giving, self-sacrificing love of Jesus and the ways we can put that into our lives.”

You can find the course here.

In this course, Bishop Curry relives some of his memories of the Royal Wedding, including analysis of his sermon. He then unpacks what he means by ‘The Way of Love’, and ‘The Jesus Movement.’ This course will spur conversation around evangelism and discipleship. Register today then come back anytime between July 2-15 to take the course

The Big Class is a series of video lectures, quizzes, and discussions. No special software is required. It will take an average learner about 45 minutes to complete. Registration is free and open to all. Click here for more information and to register, there you’ll find resources for congregational use, including downloadable posters, bulletin inserts and a Launch Guide.

This free class coincides with – and celebrates – the General Convention of The Episcopal Church. It is ideal for those looking to deepen their understanding of love and to ponder new ways of sharing and living into God’s love. It is brought to you by Forward Movement.
