First woman priest ordained in Curaçao

[Episcopal News Service] On Sept. 21, on the same day the Anglican Episcopal Church in Curaçao celebrated its 60th Anniversary, the Rev. Alma Louise De bode-Olton became the first woman priest ordained in Curaçao.

De bode-Olton, an attorney and former ambassador to Cuba and other jurisdictions, was ordained in the Resurrection Church in Suffisant, to the Holy Order of the Prebyterate by the Rt. Rev. Orlando Guerrero, bishop in the Anglican Church in Venezuela and Curaçao.
