[Episcopal Church Office of Public Affairs — Press Release] Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori announced that the popular Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) will be held July 9-13, 2014 in the Philadelphia area in partnership with the Diocese of Pennsylvania.

The announcement was made February 26 to Executive Council, currently meeting in Maryland.

The 2014 event marks the twelfth EYE and remains a popular and well-attended event. EYE 2014 is geared for youth in grades 9-12 during the 2013-2014 academic year and their adult leaders.

Bronwyn Clark Skov, Episcopal Church Youth Ministries Officer, explained, “We are pleased that EYE14 will be held with our friends in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. EYE14 is a significant opportunity for building, sharing, gathering, and learning about mission work.”

Skov added, “The Council for Youth Ministries helped in the discernment amongst four potential locations. We are grateful for all four dioceses that extended their hospitality for consideration. “

“The Diocese of Pennsylvania is looking forward to working in partnership on EYE14,” noted Pennsylvania Bishop Clifton Daniel.  “EYE is always a fun event, and we’re thrilled that it will be in our diocese.”
