Cincinnati’s Christ Church Cathedral Welcomes New Dean

A Celebration of New Ministry with the inaugural institution of The Very Rev. Owen C. Thompson as the Fourth Dean of the Christ Church Cathedral (Cincinnati) will be held on Sunday, November 21, at 3:00 pm. The Rt. Rev. George Wayne Smith, Provisional Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Ohio, will officiate.

The Rev. Thompson grew up in The Episcopal Church and was ordained to the priesthood at Christ Church Cathedral in 2003. He has spent the last eighteen years in parish ministry in the Dioceses of Long Island and New York. He most recently served as Rector of Nyack’s Grace Episcopal Church, the parish he had led since 2013.

The Rev. Thompson received his Master of Divinity degree from The General Theological Seminary (New York, NY), earned a Masters in Educational Communication and Technology from New York University’s School of Education, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hobart College.
