British bishop welcomes proposed plastic ban

[Anglican Communion News Service] Bishop of Salisbury Nicholas Holtam recently spoke in favor of U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May’s potential plan to ban a number of single-use plastic products. Holtam went on to encourage the U.K. to swap the use of cheap plastic with more sustainable alternatives, calling it a “no-brainer.”

    It’s so gratifying to hear church leaders speak out like this on the relevant issues of the day. It can’t be right to be silent while the beauty, diversity, and well-being of creation are threatened by thoughtlessness.
