St. Matthew’s is seeking a Rector who thrives on a strong relationship with God and who seeks to share the love and joy of a robust faith within our church community and in the broader community of Fairbanks. Our worship services are at the center of our life together. We are seeking a priest who will actively incorporate the rich traditions of our diverse Church community into our liturgies, leadership, programs, and outreach. In addition to being the parish of St. Matthew’s, we are also the church that is home away from home for many Alaska Natives from the surrounding villages.
We are seeking a Rector with the interest and enthusiasm to honor our history and traditions, continue our digital and outreach ministries, and collaborate with the lay leadership of the parish, the local clergy and the Diocese of Alaska. A priest who will help us grow in evangelism and active stewardship, and who has the heart and energy to engage children and youth while also providing pastoral care for people at all stages of life.
St. Matthew’s is located in Fairbanks, Alaska, a few blocks from downtown, on the banks of the Chena River. The greater Fairbanks community of about 95,000 is the center of the interior of Alaska. We are a community of faith in a vibrant university city that is a center for winter and summer sports, theater and the arts. |
