[Episcopal Preaching Foundation press release] The Episcopal Preaching Foundation is honored to announce that Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has accepted the position of honorary chairman of the board.

During a recent meeting with Dr. A. Gary Shilling, founder and board chairman of EPF, Curry affirmed the importance of effective and inspiring preaching in the Episcopal Church. The presiding bishop acknowledged the significant role that Shilling has played in advancing this mission.

Next year EPF will be celebrating 30 years of fostering outstanding preaching through its Preaching Excellence Program, also known as PEP. The presiding bishop will be joined by 2017 PEP participants, faculty and other dignitaries at All Saints Church, in Richmond, Virginia, on May 30 to mark the occasion.

Curry has a long time association with the foundation. In 1995, he  was the winner of the PEP Best Sermon award. Shilling and members of the EPF Board look forward to working together with him to continue making good preachers the best they can be.
