Posted Jan 8, 2013

[Episcopal Church Office of Public Affairs] In response to readers’ requests, Episcopal News Service is expanding its offerings and now provides a special area of reader-submitted obituaries.

“The new section of the Episcopal News Service website has been designed to allow people to submit their own Episcopal-related obituaries in an easy, user-friendly manner,” noted the Rev. Mary Frances Schjonberg, Episcopal News Service editor/reporter.

The new obituary section launches on January 8.

“While Episcopal News Service will continue to provide obituary information on bishops as well as national and international leaders, this new service expands the materials available to our readers and assists us in our comprehensive coverage of the Episcopal Church,” explained Lynette Wilson, Episcopal News Service editor/reporter.

Matthew Davies, editor/reporter, added, “Based on feedback we have received, we believe that our readers will greatly appreciate this service.”

This new addition marks the first in a series of enhancements planned for 2013 by Episcopal News Service.

This service joins other offerings on the Episcopal News Service website, including Featured Jobs and Calls, a jobs area as well as a bulletin board where churches can post for free, and a similar area and board, Featured Events.
