[ChurchNext press release] Christians looking for a new way to learn about their faith have a promising new alternative: online learning.

ChurchNext has debuted its new website where individuals and congregations can take dozens of online courses by themselves or in groups.

“ChurchNext is a great resource for Christians who want to deepen their faith and may not want to go to church to learn, however they want to hear from trusted experts and learn at their own pace, on their own time,” said ChurchNext founder Chris Yaw. “For churches, ChurchNext builds them their own private school and helps them take advantage of the huge opportunities found in online learning in congregations. As a pastor I have found there are a lot of people who want to go deeper in their faith, but
don’t have the time or resources to do so.”

There are two ways to take ChurchNext courses: individuals can sign up for $10 per course, or $15/month for unlimited access; congregations can build their own private schools for $59/month. Subscribers get unlimited access to ChurchNext courses. There are 28 courses available and a new one is added every week. 205 schools have been purchased by congregations in pre-sales in the U.S. and Canada.

ChurchNext courses are taught by experts from a moderate perspective and from a variety of denominational backgrounds including Episcopal, Lutheran, Baptist, Roman Catholic, and Presbyterian. Topics include scripture, congregational life, and everyday questions; course titles include Introduction to the Bible, Introduction to Church History, How to Discern God’s Will for Your Life, Start a Family Devotional Time, and How to Forgive.
