Anglicans on international coordinating bodies announced

[Anglican Communion Office press release] The Secretary General today announced the names of Anglican members who have agreed to serve on one of two international coordinating bodies.

Both the Anglican-Lutheran International Coordinating Committee (ALICC) and the Anglican-Old Catholic International Coordinating Council (AOCICC) reported to the Anglican Consultative Council meeting in Auckland, New Zealand in November 2012 and the ACC renewed their mandates.

Anglican-Lutheran International Coordinating Committee
This committee brings together representatives of the Anglican Communion and of the Lutheran World Federation, and fosters relationships among the churches of the two communions.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has appointed as Chair the Most Revd Mauricio Andrade, Primate of Brazil.

The Secretary General has appointed as members:

  • The Revd Darcy Dlamini, a priest of the Diocese of Swaziland, Anglican Province of Southern Africa
  • The Rt Revd Tim Harris, Bishop for Mission and Evangelism in the Diocese of Adelaine, Anglican Church of Australia
  • The Revd Augusta Leung, a priest of the Diocese of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui
  • Canon John Lindsay, a priest of the Diocese of Edinburgh, Scottish Episcopal Church

Anglican-Old Catholic International Coordinating Council
This council coordinates mission and theological reflection between the Anglican Communion and the Old Catholic Churches of the Union of Utrecht, which have been in communion with each other since 1931. The Old Catholic churches are all in Europe.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has appointed as Chair the Rt Revd Michael Burrows, Bishop of Cashel and Ossory, Church of Ireland.

The Secretary General has appointed as members:

  • The Rt Revd David Hamid, Suffragan Bishop, Diocese in Europe, Church of England
  • Mrs Jenny Knudson, Bonn, Diocese in Europe, Church of England
  • The Revd Anthony (Tony) Litwinski, a priest in Wiesbaden, Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe
  • Mrs Jennifer Adams-Maβmann, Heidelberg, Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe

ALICC will hold its first meeting in September 2013, and the AOCICC will meet in November.
