The Vestry of St. Peter’s of the Valley Episcopal Church, located in Basalt, Colorado, announced the selection of the Rev. E. Wendy Huber as their Priest in Charge effective January 1, 2020.

Senior Warden Andrew Thomas announced the selection to the congregation. “We have a wonderful priest, a solid foundation and financial standing and each other as we begin our Priest in Charge journey,” he said.

Huber was former Partnership clergy for three congregations in the Roaring Fork Valley and prior to that served small churches in the Diocese Of Texas. Huber is passionate about the small church and is committed to serving the small family-sized church after being trained in the IONA School for Ministry in the Diocese of Texas.

When asked why she felt called to serve St. Peter’s of the Valley, she responded, “The vitality of the people and place and the proximity to gold medal fly-fishing made the call quite easy.”

Huber is a second career priest, having spent her first career as an attorney specializing in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) including mediation and arbitration. She has published multiple text books on ADR in her professional name: Trachte-Huber. She serves in the Episcopal Church in Colorado as a member of the Commission on Ministry; Disciplinary Board, and was recently elected to the Cathedral Ridge Board. St. Peter’s of the Valley is among the newest parishes in Colorado having started as a mission of Christ Episcopal Church in Aspen.
