The Rt. Rev. Andrew Dietsche to be honored at Seamen’s Church Institute’s Silver Bell Awards

On June 8, 2023, the Seamen’s Church Institute (SCI) will welcome maritime leaders and supporters for the 45th Annual Silver Bell Awards Dinner. This event will celebrate and honor outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions within the industry and assist SCI in raising funds for its essential services and programs that positively impact the lives of Merchant Mariners worldwide.

This year, the Silver Bell Awards Dinner will proudly honor two distinguished individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication within their respective fields. The Rt. Rev. Andrew ML Dietsche, XVI Bishop of New York, will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering support of seafarers and the maritime community. Robert P. Burke, CEO and Principal of Ridgebury Tankers will receive the Silver Bell Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the maritime industry.

SCI President and Executive Director noted: “The Silver Bell Awards are always a highlight in our calendar as we gather the maritime community to celebrate our industry and recognize the achievements of those who truly make a difference in maritime. And this year, we are proud to honor two extraordinary individuals, Bob Burke and Bishop Dietsche, who are highly regarded and enduring advocates for seafarers. We are so proud to honor them this evening.”

SCI invites individuals and organizations to consider sponsoring and attending the 45th Annual Silver Bell Awards Dinner. The event will occur at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers, New York, NY 10011. The evening will commence at 6:00 p.m., followed by the reception at 7:30 p.m. by the dinner and awards ceremony.
