Two alumni of Seminary of the Southwest, the Rt. Rev. David Bailey and the Rt. Rev. James Magness, received honorary doctorates at the seminary’s Alumni Convocation on Sept. 25. Texas Bishop Suffragan Dena Harrison, chair of the seminary board, presented the awards at Evensong in Christ Chapel on the Southwest campus.

In 2010, Bailey was elected bishop of the Episcopal Church in Navajoland, and Magness was elected bishop suffragan for Armed Services and Federal Ministries.
