Kiley Press, LLC announces the August 8th release of Hope and Freckles: Learning to Live in a New Land written by Bill Kiley with illustrations by Mary Manning.
Let the tale of Hope and Freckles begin to teach you about millions of refugees, like this mother deer and her little fawn, who face the challenges of adjusting to life in a new land.
Hope and Freckles: Learning to Live in a New Land teaches children in a creative way about the plight of refugees around the world as they find themselves in a new country where the language, food, customs, and culture are different from what they have always known. Having fled from hunger and danger in search of a better, safer place to live, this second book in the Hope and Freckles series of books follows the journey of this mother and her little one as they adjust to life in their new home, the Big Pine Forest. The sequel to Bill Kiley’s award winning, five-star Amazon rated, first Hope and Freckles book helps young readers to learn about, yet another challenge faced by refugees and asylum seekers. The back of the book is informative and interactive, featuring more information about refugees, resources for educators and parents, and discussion questions.
