Entering the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, Washington National Cathedral is providing two resources for those seeking guidance as they prepare to begin Lent, a season of reflection and repentance that leads up to Easter: Reconciliation, Healing, and Hope: Sermons from Washington National Cathedral and The Pilgrim Way of Lent: Reflections from Washington National Cathedral. The books feature sermons from faith leaders, daily scripture, meditations, and prayers, and address the topics of hope, faith during times of distress, love, grief, and the presence of God.

Reconciliation, Healing, and Hope: Sermons from Washington National Cathedral offers inspiring words and guidance, as a reminder that in these difficult times, God offers hope for the future. Edited by Washington National Cathedral Provost The Rev. Canon Jan Naylor Cope, the compilation includes inspiring sermons from Cathedral clergy and guest preachers such as Jon Meacham, Kelly Brown Douglas, and Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry.

The Pilgrim Way of Lent: Reflections from Washington National Cathedral contains daily meditations for Lent from Washington National Cathedral and a forward by the dean of Washington National Cathedral, The Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith. The Lenten devotional is a collaboration between Washington National Cathedral and Episcopal ministry Forward Movement.

“At the dawn of a new season, as we emerge from an unprecedented time of pandemic,” said Dean Hollerith. “It seemed a particularly poignant time for Washington National Cathedral to partner with Forward Movement in this collection of meditations for Lent 2022.”

The Pilgrim Way of Lent: Reflections from Washington National Cathedral is now available on forwardmovement.org, and Reconciliation, Healing, and Hope: Sermons from Washington National Cathedral is available for pre-order at ChurchPublishing.org, Amazon.com, and Bookshop.org, and will be published on February 22.
