Samuel McDonald, deputy chief operating officer and director of mission, has announced that applications are now accepted for a one-year Justice and Advocacy Fellowship for poverty alleviation ministry through Asset-Based Community Development for The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society.

Based on Mark 4 of the Anglican Marks of Mission – to seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation — the Justice and Advocacy Fellowship will provide financial support for service-oriented, professional development and education for a person committed to engaging poverty alleviation through Asset-based Community Development methodologies.

“The Mark 4 Fellow will spend one year helping to form leaders across The Episcopal Church in healthy and proven ways to address the chronic nature of domestic poverty in various community contexts, and prioritizing work through congregations, dioceses, bishops, and other existing networks of The Episcopal Church,” McDonald explained.

The Rev. E. Mark Stevenson noted that the Mark 4 Fellow will work closely with both the Called to Transformation team and the Episcopal Asset Map team to plan and implement conferences and trainings as well as help develop related domestic poverty alleviation projects.

The Mark 4 Fellow will receive a stipend of $24,000 over the 12 months.
