Grace Episcopal Church in the rural village of Millbrook in the Diocese of New York is delighted to announce the launch of its inaugural Ministry Development Project (MDP). The Ministry Development Project, funded with a generous grant from the Roanridge Trust through the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, is an exciting new initiative aimed at supporting rural church leaders as they create and strengthen new ministries.

The Ministry Development Project (MDP) is a five-month, three-part program that supports rural leaders in their journey to develop a new ministry or revitalize an existing one. Five current or hopeful rural ministry leaders will make up this year’s 2020 cohort. The cohort will participate in an online learning community, gather in Millbrook, NY for a week-long intensive training, and engage in follow-up discussions to assist in mission and ministry development.

The Ministry Development Project is hosted by a small, rural parish with a thriving portfolio of outreach ministries, focused on youth, young adults, immigrants, as well as ministering in interfaith contexts and to unchurched millennials.

Applications for the first cohort are open now through March 15, 2020. Please contact mdp@the-irl.org or 845-677-3064 to connect with one of the co-leaders. Learn more at the-irl.org.
