February web features from Episcopal Relief & Development

Posted Feb 22, 2012

[Episcopal Relief & Development] This month’s Friends of Episcopal Relief & Development celebrates the “Give a Goat” Coffee House put on by the youth group at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Marco Island, Florida.  The event featured live music, a variety of goat milk products and an appearance by a real baby goat.  It raised enough money to purchase eight goats for families in need through Episcopal Relief & Development’s Gifts for Life catalog.

February’s Power of Partnerships features the micro-finance program of the Episcopal Diocese of Guatemala, which is supported by Episcopal Relief & Development.  The Church works with local communities to identify candidates for small business loans.  This month’s story focuses on a woman who used her loan to purchase seeds to improve her husband’s vegetable garden, so she can sell the produce along with her homemade tortillas at the market.

The monthly Power of Partnerships and Friends of Episcopal Relief & Development web features present stories about the agency’s partners in the US and worldwide. Visit www.er-d.org to read past installments, find information about our programs or make a contribution.  You can also call 1.855.312.HEAL.
