[Episcopal Public Policy Network] In advance of World Refugee Day on June 20th, join the Stand with Refugees Campaign!

Call your members of Congress to remind them that the United States plays a critical role in providing protection and hope for the persecuted, support a refugee admissions number of at least 75,000 in 2018, and maintain robust domestic and international funding for refugees and the countries that host them.

In doing so, we renew our commitment to the Baptismal Covenant’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves, which includes our refugee brothers and sisters.

To join the Stand with Refugees Campaign

1. CALL your members of Congress at 1-844-4STAND5 to express your support for refugee resettlement starting TODAY, June 12 through Friday, June 16th.

Calling guide: Once connected, please tell the person who answers the phone in your Member of Congress’ office the following: who you are, where you live, and that you are a constituent and Episcopalian. Then state that you want the United States to be a welcoming country for refugees. Please ask your Members of Congress to support robust refugee resettlement and funding to assist refugees abroad as well!

2. SHARE your support for refugees on social media using #RefugeesWelcome

Let’s strive for justice and peace among all people by taking action together.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in (Matthew 23:35)
