[Episcopal Church Office of Public Affairs] The Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry and Registrar of General Convention, the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, that Bishop-Elect Mark Andrew Cowell has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3.

In giving consent to his ordination and consecration, Standing Committees and bishops with jurisdiction attest to knowing of “no impediment on account of which” Bishop-Elect Cowell ought to be ordained to the office of bishop and believing that his election was conducted in accordance with the Canons.

The Rev. Mark Andrew Cowell was elected Bishop on May 5. Presiding Bishop Curry will officiate at his December 1 ordination and consecration service.
