Dinorah Padro named Episcopal Church manager for language services

Dinorah Padro has been appointed The Episcopal Church manager for language services, a member of the Presiding Bishop’s staff.

In her new position, Padro will report to Bernice David, communications operations manager, and will oversee all aspects of translation and interpretation activities required by the Domestic & Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS), including those needed by the Presiding Bishop’s Office and the General Convention Office.

First employed on a freelance basis with the DFMS in 2004, Dinorah has served as interpreter for many Episcopal Church events and meetings. Notes David, “Her level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills will be a great asset to the Office of Communications and to the DFMS.”

Padro began her duties on April 29, 2019.

Meet Dinorah Padro
In addition to her experience with The Episcopal Church, Padro has provided interpretation for a variety of marketing companies, as well as civil and criminal courts at the municipal, state, and federal levels. She has traveled extensively for interpretation work throughout the United States and internationally. Padro has provided translation services for a labor union and on a variety of legal and marketing documents and materials. She has worked as an office manager and loan officer, served as a community organizer for various non-profit organizations, and volunteered to assist Spanish-speaking families. Padro is a member of the American Translators Association and the Language Access Committee for the Utah State Courts.  Along with several professional certifications, Padro also studied psychology at the University of Puerto Rico and Brigham Young University in Utah.
