[Episcopal News Service] The Rev. Dr. Louis Weil, Hodges-Haynes professor emeritus of liturgics at Church Divinity School of the Pacific, recently received the Berakah Award from the North American Academy of Liturgy.

The award, given annually since 1976, is meant to honor a member’s work. Catherine Vincie, NAAL president, said that Weil was honored for contribution to the liturgical reform movement within the Episcopal Church and to the ecumenical movement in general for the past fifty years.

Weil received the award at the group’s annual meeting in Montreal earlier this month. One summary of Weil’s acceptance speech, “The Invitation to Move to a Larger Room,” is here.

A list of previous honorees is here.
