[Episcopal Diocese of Western New York] On January 6th, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby asked people to pray for the upcoming Primates Meeting, which begins tomorrow, January 11th and continues through January 16th. On January 7th, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry issued a statement in which he invited Episcopalians to join him in prayer for the Primates Meeting, asking us to pray “that we may follow our Lord Jesus in the ways of His love and in so doing be part of God’s blessing to the world.” As Archbishop Welby said in his statement, the Primates will be dealing with very difficult issues not only for the Anglican Communion, but also for the wider Church and the world. Because of this, I, too, ask you to keep the Primates Meeting in your prayers this week. Along with the Archbishop and the Presiding Bishop, I ask you to pray for wisdom for all those involved in this meeting and that the love of Christ will prevail among them.

Collects and specific prayer requests for the meeting will be posted below

Let us pray that the Holy Spirit descends mightily upon this meeting and uses this time to further His purposes for the Anglican Communion, the wider Body of Christ, and the world.

Your Brother in Christ,
+Bill Franklin
