A New Song for the Easter Season: “BE RESURRECTED IN ME”

Easter will be here before we known it. Choir directors and church musicians are busy planning ahead. Songwriters Steven West and Jamond D. McCoy of St. Wilfrid of York (Huntington Beach, CA) hope to make their jobs a little easier by announcing the pre-publication availability of “BE RESURRECTED IN ME,” (“BRIM”), a song for congregational use that follows the post-Easter, Sunday Gospels.

Opening with a general chorus for use throughout the Easter Season, “BRIM,” offers at least 2 verses for each Sunday to reinforce the Gospel message and has lyrics that can be used for Cycles A, B and C. A sample of the chorus lyrics:
“Peace be with you. Peace I leave you. My Love will set you free. Forgive, be forgiven – Let your heart be transformed. Be Resurrected in Me….”

And sample verse lyrics (v.1, Cycles A-C): “Touch My Hands. Be My Hands. Put your hand in My Side. Turn your doubt into believing….”

Writer West commented, “I hope we have been able to capture the essence of Jesus’ message of peace and created a song that can offer continuity throughout the Easter Season.” For a limited time, the music and lyrics can be accessed via the Dropbox at www.dropbox.com/sh/asvyhuvwvmkzj5z/AADIPQ3_m1CS-1kLZJ3WQhLHa?dl=0.

The song can also be used in religious education.

Questions, etc. can be sent to the authors at steven@jimbocosw.com. As the song sings: “Peace be with you.” Enjoy – and keep on singing!
