Title: Youth Minister
Status: Full-Time
Reports to: The Reverend G. Hendree Harrison, Jr.
Salary Range: In the range of $35,000, commensurate with experience

Job Summary
Support and lead the ongoing youth ministries at Church of the Good Shepherd by building deep and meaningful relationships, modeling a Christ-like lifestyle of faith, assisting and leading ministry events, aiding in the transformative education of youth in accordance with the teachings and rites of the Episcopal Church, and becoming actively involved in the life of Good Shepherd. And to fulfill the mission of the staff to equip, empower and enable our members to carry out the mission of the church.

• Help parents determine spiritual goals for their students
• Work closely with all staff at Church of the Good Shepherd, especially the Children’s Minister
• A valid driver’s license

Essential Responsibilities
• Lead and develop middle and high school age youth in faith formation and active participation in parish life, this will include the transition from children to youth
• Coordinate Sunday morning youth Christian Education class and Confirmation
• Build relationships with middle and high school youth and their families
• Plan and implement regularly-scheduled activities for the EYC throughout the fall and spring semesters, as well as periodic activities during the summer
• Recruit and train adult assistants as needed
• Serve as the contact person for Diocesan Youth Community (DYC) events
• Participate, as able, and encourage youth participation in DYC events
• Build and maintain relationship with Rector regarding all Youth activities
• Submit an annual budget for Youth activities
