Position Summary: The Young Adult Ministry Coordinator engages in ministry with young adults (post- high school, including college students through late 20’s) in Boone and the surrounding areas through work with the Episcopal Presbyterian Campus Ministry, the local Episcopal Churches and the ministry of 3rd Place. The coordinator will work in collaboration with the Presbyterian college minister and the student leadership team to plan and facilitate college ministry meetings. The Coordinator will also oversee 3rd Place, a non-traditional ministry, that strives to reach young adults and community members who consider themselves more spiritual than religious and who many never enter a church building. The coordinator strives to create communities that live into the call to be the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement.

• A commitment to engage young adults and the larger community, to develop relationships and nurture spiritual growth;
• The ability to work collaboratively with students, clergy, lay leaders, community leaders and ministers from other denominations;
• A commitment to social justice;

Education/ Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or necessary experience; Preference will be given to those with primary or secondary degrees in a religious studies, psychology, and social work.
• Background in either ministry, community organizing, social work or higher education;

Professional Expectations:
• Communicate clearly and regularly in writing, verbally and on social media;
• Organize effectively;
• Respect confidentiality;
• Monitor the budget and submit monthly bills to the Diocese;

Work Environment:
• Requires a flexible schedule; willingness to work weekends and evenings;
• Must be able to attend meetings and events in Boone and the surrounding area;
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
