||Plainsong Farm & Ministry is now recruiting for an Episcopal Service Corps (ESC) year starting January 8, 2023 and concluding November 3, 2023.
Plainsong Farm is a living laboratory, in Rockford, Michigan, where adults ages 21-32 can experiment with how to pray, rest, belong, grow, and play.
Plainsong’s Corps members grow food for local pantries, help out with farm camp, host volunteers, care for the land, and share stories from the farm. This ten month program offers immersive experiences and education in small-scale regenerative agriculture, spiritual practice, and communal living.
Over the 10-months Plainsong Corps members will experience:
- a balanced life of prayer, feasts, play, rest, study, conversation, retreats, and work;
- immersion in regenerative agriculture and contemplative practice for health and healing of all creation;
- contextual analysis of power, possession, people, and place, both in history and today;
- life in community with one another and the various intergenerational communities of Plainsong Farm; and
- embodied practice.
Weekly commitment: 32 volunteer hours and 8 formation hours per week.
Compensation: $400 monthly stipend, housing, utilities, end-of-service award, health insurance, spiritual direction, therapy, and seasonal vegetables (total estimated value of $12,000).
As with all ESC programs, applicants from all denominations, traditions, and levels of faith commitment are encouraged.
