Job Description
Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial firm located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.

Integrated Benefits Account Management & Services (IBAMS) relationship model supports CPG’s institutional relationships by providing Episcopal bishops, diocesan, parish and institutional leaders with the information and support they need to understand, administer, champion, and appreciate the full range of benefits-related products, programs, and services available through CPG.

The Vice President- Domestic Relationship Management will lead, manage, and develop the team of relationship management professionals that serves the domestic dioceses of the Episcopal Church.  The incumbent must be able to understand and effectively communicate CPG’s product offerings, fiduciary duties, and its overall strategic plan to various constituencies around the Church. They must be able to build and maintain strong relationships around CPG and the Church. They must be a critical thinker and a problem solver who can add value to various CPG project teams and working groups. This incumbent will represent CPG with the institutions it serves and bring institutional insights back to CPG so it can continue to evolve to meet ever changing needs.


  • Create and maintain an account management plan that is scalable and agile for changing business needs
  • Oversee the ongoing activities of the domestic Account Management (AM) team, including team configuration, recruiting, professional development, and issue escalation support
  • Develop and maintain expertise regarding CPG’s full range of products, services, programs, and resources
  • Support CPG’s strategic plan by providing professional, compassionate and trustworthy support of clients and peers
  • Communicate with confidence at the highest ecclesiastical and administrative levels around the Church
  • Collaborate across CPG to execute on business priorities and respond to client issues
    • Serve as subject matter expert as it relates to B2B client needs and account management
    • Share expert client insights and make sure they are used to inform CPG’s work
    • Consult with colleagues in the evaluation, development, and deployment of new or modified domestic benefit products, programs, products and services
  • Provide service, support, and intervention to resolve complex cases
  • Ensure a consistent revenue base through business retention and business development and assist with the sales strategy for CPG’s health, dental, pension, group life and disability products
  • Support organizational compliance with General Convention mandates (i.e. the Denominational Health Plan and Lay Pension System)
  • Accountable for account management team goals, deliverables, various project timelines, and cost center budget
  • Support the Office of the Chief Executive Officer and Church Relations in proactively managing relationships with key domestic church leaders
  • Lead or participate in special projects as assigned
  • Maintain a high level of focus on personal and staff professional development and key organizational health initiatives
  • Continually explore and adapt to the changing landscape of leadership drivers (i.e. Authentic Leadership, Emotional Intelligence)
  • Ensure broad understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion dynamics

  • 10+yrs of experience in leadership, account management, and customer relations required
  • Administration of diocesan and/or group employee benefits desired
  • An understanding of the Episcopal Church strongly desired
  • BA\BS or combination of experience and education required. Concentration in Business Administration, Finance, or Communications preferred
