|The mission of St. Stephen’s, Sweetwater, and All Saints, Colorado City is to help restore the people of our communities to God and each other in Christ, through worship, service, and friendship.
All Saints’ Episcopal Church of Colorado City and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Sweetwater work well together. A vicar’s sharing of time between the churches has not been a problem. In the past, the vicar has devoted two days a week to care of each church in the separate locations. All Saints’ has a 9 a.m. Sunday service, and Saint Stephen’s Sunday service is at 11 a.m. Under the leadership of our most recent vicar, once-a-month Healing Services occurred, followed by a Taste and See Meal, alternating locations between the churches. Holy Week services have not been duplicated; for example, Maundy Thursday services have been held at All Saints’ and Good Friday services at Saint Stephen’s. In this way, communicants of both missions have the opportunity to worship together. We would be flexible to a new vicar’s scheduling of his or her time.
We seek an active, accepting, positive vicar, community oriented, who will help us grow spiritually. Gifts of listening and openness are additional qualities we value as we continue our mission of restoring the people of our communities to God and each other in Christ, through worship, service, and friendship.
