Job Description
Church Pension Group’s (CPG) account relationship model provides Episcopal employers with informed, dedicated support in understanding and accessing the full range of benefits-related products, programs and services available to them.  The incumbent must be proactive in assessing and managing the information and service needs of various regions, and must be collaborative in working with peers around CPG to respond to the benefits needs of Episcopal employers within the context of CPG’s mission.

The ultimate goal of the Senior Account Manager – Business Development (CPG) is to build and maintain strong, trusting and professional relationships with voluntary and international client leadership so they experience and understand us as a consultative benefits partner within the context of our mission and fiduciary responsibility to support them. Performance success will be measured in terms of client engagement with available products, programs and services, and with reference to client satisfaction scores and feedback collected from those we serve.

  • Spanish fluency is preferred but not required
  • Track-record of client outreach, client service and/or account management
  • Experience with insight-driven decision making
  • Ability to work at all levels of an organization. A collegial and collaborative working style is required to facilitate key working relationships with all external and internal clients
  • Familiarity with the polity of the Episcopal Church, international and domestic
  • Highly professional demeanor
  • Strong written and verbal skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Detail oriented professional capable of determining and executing actions to achieve results
  • Ability to plan and design sales proposals and financial analyses
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have reasonable access to major airport
  • Licensure for group life and disability preferred but not required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Utilize leadership competencies to improve and drive client relationship management, resources, and team dynamics
  • Set, maintain, and consistently meet project deadlines and/or process requirements
  • Working with IBAMS management, take a leadership role in developing and maintaining a consistent revenue base through business retention, business development including new business on existing as follows:

Execute voluntary market sales strategy for CPG health, dental, pension, group life and disability products

  • Identify those groups not providing a full array of CPG’s benefits and non-participating Episcopal institutions through client networking
  • Raising the awareness in Episcopal institutions of CPG’s employee benefit products and service model
  • Perform systematic and programmatic face-to-face outreach and contact management
  • Prepare regular status reporting and forecasting
  • Work with existing account relationship managers to develop up-sale opportunities with existing clients
  • Develop proposals, associated financial analyses, and sales presentations that will provide group leadership with a compelling case to enroll in programs offered by CPG
  • Provide account and relationship management and offer quality member education for new group implementations
  • Understand and effectively communicate CPG’s vision and strategy to all levels of supported voluntary clients and their leadership
  • Manage ongoing client outreach to voluntary and international groups
  • Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise regarding CPG products, services, programs, and resources
  • Understand the variety of communication styles required to effectively provide service to all client segments
  • Provide service, support, and intervention to resolve complex cases
  • Understand and follow appropriate escalation processes
  • Maintain all required recording and reporting using CPG’s systems
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure a high-level of service to clients
  • Solicit and share client feedback (example: via Voice of the Church)
  • Consult with peers in the evaluation, development, and deployment of new voluntary and international benefit products, programs, and services
  • Assist manager with the yearly budgeting and cost center financial results
  • Lead or participate in work and special projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in account management and/or customer relations required
  • Administration of diocesan and/or group employee benefits desired
  • BA\BS or combination of experience and education

Professional office environment when in the CPG corporate office in New York City and with clients in their work environments or on sales calls. Home office environment, with CPG provided equipment, including computer, printer, internet service, router, and telephone.
