St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Courtenay
Merritt Island, FL
Job Description
St. Luke’s is a warm, loving, and generous family of faithful Christians. We believe that the mission of the Church is to bring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We have a Biblically-based faith and are immersed in Episcopalian theology, liturgy, and traditions. We are inclusive and welcoming of anyone who worships with us.

Founded in the 1870’s, St. Luke’s is located in the heart of the Space Coast, just south of the Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, FL. The area is growing again and our members are open to leadership that will re-energize the parish, make changes to attract new families, nourish Christians of all ages, and help us to realize our potential. We earnestly desire to expand our existing ministries and create new ones, all for the glory of God and our love for Jesus Christ.

We are searching for God’s choice of a priest who is biblically grounded, compassionate, friendly, has a sense of humor, and is able to relate to both the young and the old. We need a faithful pastor who will provide spiritual leadership to our congregation, someone who challenges and inspires us with thoughtful, educational sermons and provides compassionate pastoral care while equipping us for our ministries. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic, honest, and positive individual who exhibits flexible leadership and encourages/empowers others to take charge of various aspects of church life.

In addition, our new rector should have a strong track record of growing a parish in membership and engagement, change management, leading successful stewardship, and strategic leadership. Our prayer is that St. Luke will grow back to a full-time ministry.
