|St. Peter’s Episcopal Church has been instrumental in the life and development of Sheridan, Wyoming for over 100 years. Sheridan is a prominent city and ranching community in Wyoming and encompasses several smaller communities, including Ranchester, Dayton, Big Horn, Story, Arvada, Clearmont, and Ucross.
Sheridan’s workforce is diverse, including: education, health and social services, agriculture, forestry, mining, science, construction, arts, entertainment, recreation, and tourism. We are home to more than 40 foundations, non-profit groups and community organizations, with a strong focus on education, the arts, senior care, recreation and history.
We are seeking a rector who will have sole authority over liturgy and music used in worship, over all the ministries of the church, over the use (not maintenance or upkeep) of the church facility for ministry purposes, and over the staff of the church. Our rector may employ the help of staff and others to assist in the advancement of St. Peter’s in the life of the Diocese and in our community.
Sheridan sits at the base of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains, which are home to multiple outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, and a myriad of summer and winter sports. We are 140 miles southeast of Billings, MT and 430 miles north of Denver, CO. We are about 4.5 hours from Yellowstone National Park.
