The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Sisters, Oregon is seeking a full-time rector to lead our active, involved, growing, and united church family of Episcopalians and mainline Protestants.
We have two worship styles. Episcopal Eucharist takes place at 10:15 AM each Sunday. The Protestant/Ecumenical worship is at 8:30 AM.
Sisters is a vibrant, fast-growing community with top-rated schools, art galleries, and popular summer events. Snow-capped peaks, hiking trails, rivers, lakes, and wilderness areas surround the town of Sisters. Outdoor recreation includes skiing, road cycling and mountain biking, fly fishing, and kayaking. The nearby cities of Bend and Redmond provide extensive services including a large regional medical center, two hospitals, a regional airport with connections to major cities, Oregon State University Cascades, shopping centers, and restaurants.
Parishioners from both services are very active in Transfiguration ministries and in local volunteering. Seventy-six-percent of respondents to our survey question reported volunteering for 20 different organizations.
We seek a rector who is a strong, collaborative, Pastoral leader, who will deepen our spiritual lives and our understanding of Christ’s teachings, and who will help us reach out to the many new residents of our growing community.
