Our Vision is to “Build Relationships, Share God’s Love, Nurture God’s Creation”. Our Mission Statement is “We believe in building relationships through God’s love without exception. In order to grow, we serve, engage and encourage. Through fellowship, outreach,
and worship, we seek to nurture God’s creation.”

We are not a community that faces only inward. God is leading us out into the world.

The Louisville metropolitan area is the largest in Kentucky. The city is known for its vibrant urban life that includes an array of diverse neighborhoods and restaurants (a foodie city!) and hosts many well-known events including the Kentucky Derby, Thunder over Louisville, and other outdoor music festivals. Louisville has an orchestra, theatre, zoo, many museums, professional baseball and soccer teams, and college sports. The horse racing and bourbon industries are a notable part of Kentucky culture. There is something for everyone!

The St. Luke’s campus is comprised of several buildings that include the original worship space with a recent 7000+ sq ft addition that allows us to welcome our neighbors for fellowship, events, and education. Our members are devoted and dedicated to continuing to grow and prosper with the guidance of our new rector and the support of our lay leaders.

St. Luke’s serves a large area. As a part of that, we have aligned as mission partners several organizations that care for the needs of our greater community and strive to share God’s love with God’s people, everywhere.

We pray that our next rector will be a skilled collaborator, able to support our strong lay leadership and staff. Our rector will join us in welcoming visitors and be willing and able to speak to the needs of parishioners in their daily lives. We seek an individual who can inspire, motivate, and hold us accountable, and occasionally make us a little uncomfortable.

Qualities we desire in our rector are a passion for liturgy and music, empathy, humility, candor, innovation, energy, approachability, good communication and humor.

We want to welcome a rector into our community who can worship with us, work with us, cry with us, laugh with us and share in the joy that comes from being a part of St. Luke’s.
