St. Alban’s seeks an experienced, full-time Rector to serve as the sixth Rector in its 91-year history. We seek a spiritual leader whose vitality and warmth are evident from the pulpit as well as in pastoral care, one whose faith reflects intellectual breadth and whose sermons are relevant to our world today. Lay formation, family ministry and creative vision in applying our Episcopal traditions to faith in action are valued. Confident and transparent leadership, in the management of staff and in the stewardship of resources, is key as we seek to sustain and grow our work. We will look for the candidate’s expression of interest in a cover letter, with hope that you will consider joining us in prayerful discernment.
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, bordering the University of California Los Angeles, is a congregation that embraces both its century-old history and contemporary expressions of faith. We are a diverse community, from congregants who were married at St. Alban’s in the 1950s to young families and students engaged through our university outreach. We are united in Christ through the grounding tenants of our faith, the values of social justice and the hard work of loving and living faith in this world. Our community is small in number but outsized in strength and vitality, caring for one another, engaging in open and mindful dialogue, and welcoming visitors of all races, political perspectives, sexual orientation and levels of prosperity. |
