We are a congregation seeking to grow spiritually and live ever more fully into our mission statement of “Linking lives in the love of Christ.”  We serve the community through outreach programs and participate in local, area-wide, national, and global outreach activities through volunteering, offering our physical resources, prayer, and financial support.  We desire a Rector who will lead, inspire, and challenge us to be the best version of who God is calling us to be.

Specifically, we seek a rector who:

  • Effectively teaches and preaches, through word and example, and inspires all to live their faith ever more fully both individually and corporately
  • Is energetic and passionate and, along with St. John’s members, engages in the greater Midland community as a progressive presence to embody and support our Welcoming Statement
  • Has strong leadership and administrative skills to effectively plan, lead, and manage staff and laity to conduct meaningful worship services, meet internal and external pastoral care needs, and manage the business affairs of the church
  • Will ask challenging questions and guide the congregation to create key growth and program development strategies and actions to remain viable and necessary
  • Will lead our pastoral care committee, actively participate in pastoral care, and prioritize when the rector’s presence is necessary to effectively meet pastoral care needs.
