| St. James Episcopal Church is located in the medium sized town of Hendersonville in the southern Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina. St. James is an active (60% of members active in church related ministries), large program sized parish. While comprised of mostly retirees, it is a parish that continues to grow with 20% new members in the past 4 years. St. James is looking for a priest who will come and work alongside them to respond to the mission of God in their context: to provide enlightening sermons; to expand Christian formation opportunities for people of all ages; to engage is social justice initiatives in the town and wider county; to expand their evangelistic initiatives and how to connect newcomers’ gifts with the needs of the world; enhance communication and day to day parish administration; strategic leadership development; pastoral care in these new times. The next rector will need a minimum of 5 years experience. | |
