Job Description

Two Rural Virginia Counties Two Worshipping Communities Committed Friends and Partners

As two congregations and as partners, the people of St. Mark’s and Grace Churches form a wider worshipping community that has been working together missionally, sharing special services during Lent and Advent, and sharing music leadership for years. Although the COVID 19 pandemic has been a difficult time, both churches have become even stronger through weekly combined virtual Sunday services and a mid-week “Wednesday Night Live” Compline and sharing time. Meanwhile the two churches feel blessed to be able to continue important ongoing ministries. Grace members again provided their annual scholarships to students in Nelson County, added to their food ministry to assist the local Food Bank, and have continued to reach out to members of their local community who need prayers and support. St. Mark’s members’ success and fulfillment has been felt in their participation in the operation of The Episcopal Thrift Shop; their personal and church family contributions to the Hurricane Relief Fund; and their church’s support of the Amherst Cares Program to feed hungry children.
