|Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston, Alabama, is a vibrant congregation of ASA 100 with a history of community outreach and a strong lay leadership.
Grace was involved in the beginnings of several outreach programs and ministries in our community, including the Anniston Soup Bowl, the area’s first hospice, and the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
One of our signature events, Lobsterfest, is a fundraiser for Habitat. We are also recognized for our PreSchool Friends program, a free-tuition preschool for under-served children, and Foothills day Camp, a ministry to children ages 6-10 and to high school- college-aged counselors who experience servant leadership. Our Beans and Rice ministry distributes food to more than 100 families each month.
Anniston, a town of approximately 22,000 located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, is convenient to the cities of Atlanta and Birmingham and a close to abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. Also known as “Bike City,” Anniston is home to premier mountain bike trails and several professional bike races, as well as the newly designated Freedom Riders National Monument recognizing the city’s role in Civil Rights history.
