|St. Paul’s by-the-Lake Episcopal Church|
|St. Paul’s by-the-Lake Episcopal Church is receiving names for their next rector. The congregation, established in 1882, is located in the Rogers Park neighborhood in the City of Chicago and has been well served by several long-term rectors. St. Paul’s by-the-Lake practices High Church worship using both the 1979 and 1928 prayer books and their mission is based in evangelism. Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and a service is led in Dinka for the Sudanese members at 1 p.m. Daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Saturday as well. St. Paul’s by-the-Lake has active outreach in the community, including with Exodus World Service, an organization which offers services for refugees. The building hosts community meetings and is a space for everyone in Rogers Park to gather. The members of St. Paul’s by-the-Lake reflect the diversity of Rogers Park, the most diverse neighborhood in Chicago, and the congregation prides itself on opening their doors to residents and visitors alike.
The Rogers Park neighborhood is located nine miles from downtown Chicago, with mass transit train and bus lines running directly to and from the Loop all the way to the South Side. Located along the shore of Lake Michigan, there are beaches and parks which can be enjoyed year round, as well as many neighborhood festivals and events. The campus of Loyola University is located on the southern end of Rogers Park, and there are many public and private schools for pre-school through grade 12. Home to a wide range of economic diversity as well as cultural diversity, there is something for everyone in the neighborhood.
