St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church

Job Description
St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church is a “family-size” parish with a desire to grow. We’re looking for a rector who will lead us to serve the community, invite unchurched people to visit, welcome newcomers as we would welcome Jesus, and connect newcomers with the people and programs of the parish. We will look to our next rector to provide leadership in Christian education for children, teens, and adults. Our next rector needs excellent “people skills” and the ability to work collaboratively with lay leaders. We would like our next rector to be involved in the community and advocate for social justice while being sensitive to different political perspectives. Our next rector needs to provide pastoral care in concert with lay ministers. Strong technical and social media skills would be a plus. We offer a compensation package commensurate with diocesan guidelines for a parish of our size. This includes a rectory that is a short distance from the church. We strive to care for our historic buildings. We’re currently repairing the stonework and replacing the roof of the church. We expect this work to be completed in the spring or summer of 2019. The Village of Bath and the Finger Lakes region has much to offer nature lovers, wine enthusiasts, and families with school-age children!
