Job Description
We are looking for a priest skilled in congregation development and excited about strengthening congregations numerically, spiritually and in missional leadership. In the Diocese of Rochester, we are intentional about formation, choosing to focus our efforts in the areas of relationship, stewardship, and leadership, with the blessed hope of becoming the beloved community Jesus taught about and prayed for.

Whether you are single or married, widowed or divorced, young or not so young, you will find a place of welcome and community at St. Luke’s. Whoever you are, our red doors are open to you regardless of race, faith heritage, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. Come and experience the inclusivity of St. Luke’s!

St. Luke’s offers a midweek Bible Study and special studies like, the annual Lenten Series, or take part in a Foyer Dinner Group, or check out an evening of Trivial Pursuit.

St. Luke’s is a caring Church family where people reach out to each other with concern and emotional support in time of need. We pray for those who are sick, take communion to the homebound, and support people through the transitions of life.

The community gathers together to worship God and learn about Christ at our 8 o’clock and 10 o’clock Sunday services. Each Sunday there is a sermon, Holy Communion, and fellowship following the service. The 8 o’clock service is a “quiet” service, spoken and without music. At 10 o’clock we sing hymns, have anthems sung by our choir, and have preludes and postludes presented by our director of music. Sometimes our children sing, or we have special guest musicians’ to enhance our music.

Childcare, Sunday School classes and youth programs for children of all ages are offered during the 10 o’clock service. Older children come up to the Church in time for communion.

On the first Sunday of the month there is a joint coffee hour between the services at 9 o’clock so folks from both services can mingle together. We have coffee hour weekly (or lemonade on the lawn during summer) after our 10 o’clock service.
