Job Description
We are looking for a priest skilled congregation development and excited about strengthening congregations numerically, spiritually and in missional leadership. In the Diocese of Rochester, we are intentional about formation, choosing to focus our efforts in the areas of relationship, stewardship, and leadership, with the blessed hope of becoming the beloved community Jesus prayed for.

St George’s Church is a community of faithful people who join together to worship and serve the Hilton community. We are located in Hilton New York, a growing community outside of Rochester New York. Our town includes two banks, a bowling alley, grocery store, a few restaurants, a nursing home, two funeral parlors, a firehouse, an elementary and high school, several churches, a senior center and shopping plaza with several small shops. We have a variety of activities close by.

Nearby Lake Ontario we enjoy boating, camping, fishing and picnicking on warm summer days. Our fire department organizes a parade in July each year which brings other fire departments and organizations from all over Monroe County and is followed by a carnival with rides and entertainment that has featured name artists such as Charlie Daniels. Surrounded by farms and wooded areas we enjoy the outdoors with opportunities for hiking, hunting, snowmobiling and picking pumpkins. Kelly’s apple farm is located across the road from us and offers not only fresh pressed cider, but some of the best pastries you’ll ever eat.
We are 30 minutes from the city of Rochester where you can dine in a fine restaurant, attend a concert or a performance by our philharmonic orchestra or chorus, attend a play at the Auditorium or watch a sporting event at the Blue Cross Arena. Our city has professional baseball, soccer, Lacross and hockey teams. The city boasts of having some of the best colleges in the country, RIT, U of R, Nazareth, St John Fisher, Robert Weslyan and the Eastman School of Music to name a few.

Our church family is just that a family. We are warm and welcoming. We work hard to make it a place that welcomes everyone and makes them want to join our parish. We serve the community by tending a garden in the summer that yielded 900 pounds of produce last year for our local food shelf. We are present in the community volunteering at the food shelf, joining with the council of churches in town activities, holding recycling events and participating in the Applefest yearly. We have 24 children of varying ages who brighten our Sundays with their charm. Our youth are active in the community as well as support the needs of our parish and have attended Missionpalooza the past two years. We are determined to keep our doors open and hope you will consider joining our team.
