|Priest In Charge Under Special Circumstances|
|Name of church or organization|
|Lake Havasu City, AZ|
|Grace Episcopal Church in Lake Havasu City is a congregation in need of healing. They have the capacity to be a vibrant multi-generational congregation, but a long-term conflict, exacerbated by the pandemic, caused the departure of the Rector of seven years and the resignation of most members of the Vestry.
The congregation applied to become a Mission of the Diocese of Arizona, and new lay leaders who were neutral during the most recent conflict have stepped up and been appointed to the Bishop’s Committee. They are working with the Diocese to get the congregation’s affairs in order, and restart ministry as much as possible given the limitations of the pandemic. There is a spirit of hope and optimism among the new leaders, and a desire to be a congregation that truly models the Grace of God.
Lake Havasu City is a resort community of 55,000 permanent residents, with tens of thousands of visitors on weekends. Grace has a lovely campus and is well situated. The Diocese of Arizona is committed to making up the difference between what Grace can afford and what is needed to pay the salary of their Priest In Charge Under Special Circumstances for the next 2-3 years.
We are looking for a Priest In Charge Under Special Circumstances called with the ability to build, heal, and partner with the members of Grace, Lake Havasu City, and the Diocese of Arizona. A roadmap will be offered to the Priest In Charge Under Special Circumstances to serve as a resource in the rebuilding of the congregation.
