We invite you to consider a full or half time Priest-in-Charge position with St. Mary’s in Emmett Idaho. The position description in their own words:

The work of the Priest in Charge of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is to reveal the presence of God, and care for the spiritual well being of all members of the Parish. He/She will have the primary responsibility for worship according to the Book of Common Prayer and will write and deliver a lectionary-based sermon each Sunday. The Priest coordinates, supports, and oversees lay members during the church service, and following the liturgical calendar leads the congregation in the celebration of the various seasons of the church year.

The key role of our St. Mary’s priest is to provide enthusiastic leadership and development of the church ministries including involvement and participation of young families, friendly and transparent communications with all church lay groups, improve on existing ecumenical relationships with other churches in the local area, and conduct wedding, funeral, and confirmation services.

The key tasks in addition to presiding and preaching at regular Sunday or special services include attending to the pastoral needs of the whole congregation especially those who are unable to attend services, hold/coordinate family and children services and maintain working relationships with local primary schools, and promote in the community the opportunity for Anglican worship at St Mary’s.

Our Priest is an enthusiastic leader who works collaboratively and in partnership with the Vestry and the congregation to develop strategies, and set priorities for the future, emphasizing a caring, inclusive, non-judgmental ministry that reaches out to new families in the community.  The Priest of St. Mary’s will work together with the Vestry to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the church including attending meetings, developing of and managing budgets, and overseeing fundraising events.   On a periodic basis work with fellow diocesan clergy and the bishop to enhance the unity of the diocese and build good ecumenical relations with other churches locally and throughout southwest Idaho.
