Job Description | |
Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in San Jose, a small parish with a big heart, is looking to call their next Priest-in-Charge (with the hope that this person will become their rector). As a Priest-in-Charge, there is a three year contract, and at any point after 18 months the priest and vestry can mutually discern to transition to having the priest be their rector. Good Samaritan enjoys both hymnal and contemporary (folk) worship music, and they greet each other lovingly and enthusiastically during the Peace. There is a long and strong tradition of Outreach to the neighborhood, and ecumenism is core to their being – they have a Korean Presbyterian church that rents from them and worships after them on Sunday, with whom they have a wonderful relationship. They have a newly renovated rectory, which is a huge gift in the Bay Area. In order to call a half-time Priest-in-Charge, Good Samaritan is offering the rectory as compensation along with a small cash stipend, to be negotiated. | |
