Job Description
Christ Church Riverton is seeking a full time Priest in Charge to be the spiritual leader of our historic church located on the banks of the Delaware River in Riverton, NJ. The congregation consists of residents primarily from the nearby neighboring communities of Riverton, Cinnaminson, and Palmyra.

The Priest in Charge will serve as the parish leader in all religious matters, as well as oversee the running of the Church office and Sunday school program. In addition to religious matters of Christ Church, the Priest in Charge should assist in maintaining and growing the church’s current outreach ministries, such as Project Interaction.

The position requires leading two services on Sunday with hopes of resuming a mid-week service with a possible Bible Study Group, a monthly service, and additional services per the church calendar.

The Priest in Charge should lead monthly Vestry meetings to discuss the issues of the church. Additionally, the priest, along with the treasurer and Vestry, will develop the annual budget and oversee the operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.

The future leader will also be responsible for counseling those in need as well as visiting the sick and shut-in members of the church.

The Priest in Charge will need to participate in the work of the local Council of Churches.
